I have always been somewhat of an adventure seeker. Nothing to thrilling or borderline adrenile junky, but someone who is always looking to see some new territory, or catch my first fish of a different species, or just get further into the wilderness than I have ever been. These journeys have led me to become quite a gear head. When backpacking deep into the backcountry, you want to go in light and be able to stay comfortable. When fly fishing a river in the middle of somewhere, you want to be able to enjoy it to the fullest. When you are moments away from sticking an arrow into the animal that you have wanted to put on the table all summer, you want to know your equipment is going to perform to its full potential.
I have experienced the great outdoors and have determined the equipment that it takes to stay the most comfortable, keeping it light and dependable. The only way to know is to try things, which I have so you do not have to.
